Anyone can be a member of the group. It helps if you live in the Atlanta area since most trips will be planned within 1/2 day trip from Atlanta.

The group is sponsored by the North Atlanta Church of Christ. Most of the members are part of the North Atlanta Church of Christ located in Dunwoody GA.

The Ed Roepe, Wilbur Maddox and Dan Thorpe are the main organizers of the group. Ed was elected president of the group for 2001.

How are the locations selected?

On many of the trips an email is sent to the group for feedback on a proposed locations. The chosen location is majority vote. We select locations that are close on short weekends. We go further on longer holiday weekends. We go north in the summer and south in the winter. Most trips are planned around major holidays and occur once a month except December.

Do I need to go on all the trips?

No. Many people just monitor the group and come when they can.

Are their any dues or fees?

None

How are reservations handled?

Everyone is responsible for making their own reservations. We found out this year that you should make reservations at least one month in advance. During the summer months you should make reservations 2 or 3 months in advance.

What is the typical weekend schedule?

Most people arrive on Friday afternoon or evening. On Saturday we plan a trip to see something of interest in the area. Saturday night is a potluck dinner. Sunday morning is church service.

Do I need to attend the church service on Sunday?

No. We would like you to be part of the fellowship on Sunday, but that's not necessary

What's the service like on Sunday?

We have singing, prayer, communion and a short message from the Bible. The service usually lasts less than an hour.

Is the group limited to a particular type of camping?

We have campers who are in tents, pop-ups, RVs, 5th wheels and trailers. Some people stay in cabins or hotels nearby. We try to plan trips to locations that will accommodate all the above. Sometimes that's not possible.

How do I know who is going for a particular weekend?

On the Sunday before the trip an email is sent to the group asking them to reply if they are going. On Wednesday night an email is sent out those who are going listing the other campers.
